Thursday at the Plaza: FALLING BONES!

April 21, 2008

Falling Bones
It’s a fine week for blues and rock here on the Plaza.

FALLING BONES one of the most popular groups in our area are on tap this Thursday (April 24th).

Bones are big in our area. They are regulars at Scarletts, the Roof at the Winery, A1A Aleworks and do lots of private parties. They even get down to the Golden Lion in Flagler Beach on occasion.

Long John Higginbotham, a great exponent of the blues (plus some mean licks on Harmonica) and Rick Levy (who was lead Guitar for Herman and the Hermits for a couple of years) are the members of this duo, and it cooks. Many of the songs are their own compositions, They cover all points from the standard “Alligator blues” to the (at least) esoteric “My baby gave me a dreidel for Christmas.” The folks, who wanted to make an issue of the “anti Semitic humor” in the earlier street show on the plaza, probably won’t even get that one (either!).

Check them out for free at the Plaza concert, this Thursday (April 24th). Usual rules: no alcoholic beverages, bring your own chair or blanket and (above all) enjoy!
