Tammerlin in the Plaza
May 2, 2008

Northwest Florida’s premier folk duo, Tammerlin is the concert this week. You can pay to hear them at Gamble Rogers or you can hear them for free Thursday, May 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the plaza.
Tammerlin isn’t your “Folk Group Come Lately,” nor are they obscure. They have been traveling, performing, making CDs and fine music for over fifteen years.
Just their current schedule shows performances from Naples, Sarasota, Lakeland and Daytona to Pensacola, with all stops in between. They also have gigs as far away as Denver. (Yes, THAT Denver.) LEE HUNTER & ARVID SMITH, shown together in this August 2007 promotional photo, are “big time” and well they should be!
Their four CDs and multiple concert tours are well represented at their website. There are also MP3 downloads available on the site for the “take it with you” crowd. Check it out and you will find an expansive variety of outstanding folk performances from a variety of cultures and nationalities, plus, (as it should be with a folk group) lots of original tunes and works on contemporary issues.
Usual rules for Thursday. Bring your own chair, cooler (no alcoholic beverages) whatever and come on down to the Plaza Thursday, May 8th, 7:00 p.m. for Tammerlin.
Personal Note: My apologies to our readers and my friends in Moderate Chop and the amazing students from FSDB for missing the write up last week. The Macster was on forced medical hiatus. We’ll try (hard) to stay healthy in the future.
