October 7, 2012 | By More

St Johns County Fire-Rescue and the organization, “Firefighters for Families” have extended an invitation to Historic City News readers to visit Fire Station 10 next Saturday, October 13th for their annual Community Day.

This free and informative event will be packed full of fun for all ages, with “Patches” the firefighting robot, a bounce house, a ladder truck, fun interactive games and complimentary hot dogs and refreshments.

“By using a little extra caution, you can help safeguard your family from home fires that claim thousands of lives every year,” Nyani Mattison, public education officer for St Johns County Fire-Rescue, told reporters. “We hope that you will come out and enjoy our Community Day and learn some simple tips to help keep your family safe.”

During the event, going on from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Firefighters for Families will be conducting a food drive to assist with their annual holiday toy and food drive.

Fire Station 10 is located at 155 Library Boulevard; next to the Ponte Vedra Beach branch of the St Johns County Public Library.
