In a report obtained by Historic City News, Dr. Predag Bulic, 23rd District Medical Examiner, reported that he used tattoo photographs and fingerprint evidence to identify the body of the 35-year-old victim, killed Wednesday evening when she stepped onto the roadway of I-95.
In an update yesterday, the Florida Highway Patrol told reporters that they had completed notification of the victim’s family at 5:10 p.m., and they were now able to identify her as Denise Ann Tatum whose last known residence was in Anchorage Alaska.
At about 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, 61-year-old Charlotte Stanley who lives in Selinsgroove, Pennsylvania, was driving her 2011 Ford F-150 pickup truck southbound on I-95 at mile marker 318 when she struck Tatum — causing fatal injuries to the pedestrian and an estimated $5,000 in damage to the vehicle.
Neither Stanley, nor her passenger, 53-year-old Richard Stanley, received any injuries according to the traffic homicide investigation report.
No charges have been made against the driver pending the results of blood alcohol examination and further investigation into why the driver continued on her route for several miles before stopping and why she did not call police to file a report.
