On Saturday, February 1st, Historic City News readers will want to be at the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve when they host the Annual Timucuan Adventure Day; presented by the Florida Public Archaeology Network and its partners.
The family-friendly day of citizen science activities begins at 10:00 a.m. and is designed to inspire the entire community to get involved in protecting Jacksonville’s national treasure by exploring the unique and diverse resources within the Timucuan Preserve.
The day’s adventures, which continue until 3:00 p.m. at the Jacksonville preserve, feature hands-on activities for all ages. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
Activities include mapping an anchor, monitoring plankton, learning about insects, and bird-watching.
