Fatal crash on rural St Johns County highway

300-NATALIE-LYNN-STARRATTHistoric City News was informed that a KIA Sorento SUV, headed southbound on Joe Ashton Road, left the roadway this morning after traveling through a curve and struck a tree. The driver, a 22-year-old St Johns County woman, did not survive the crash, according to Sheriff’s spokesman Kevin Kelshaw.

Today, the family and friends of Natalie Lynn Starratt, who lived at 5245 Timucua Circle in the Greenwood subdivision, are mourning their loss after this morning’s single-vehicle collision that was reported to have occurred at 6:49 a.m.

The crash took place in the 3400 block of Joe Ashton Road — an uncongested, rural 2-lane highway in northwest St Johns County.

Traffic Homicide Deputies are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash.
