Kendall will challenge incumbent for Commission District 2

KIM-J-KENDALL-HCN-CAMPAIGNHistoric City News was informed this morning that Kim J. Kendall has filed to run for St Johns County Commission, District 2. As a former small business owner and FAA air traffic controller, Kim will bring a keen sense of both the private and public sectors to the Board.

Kim is a Conservative Republican who knows the way to grow the economy by having a smaller, less-intrusive government — focused on governing from the local level. Knowing the road to better government is paved with the founding principles, Kim understands that we should stick to the simple basics envisioned by our Forefathers.

“I am passionate about serving our county’s residents and am always available to give this position the time it deserves,” Kendall told local Historic City News reporters this morning. “More importantly, I am here to megaphone the voice of the residents in saying – NO more tax hikes!”

Kim is no stranger to public service. She has served St. Johns County in many ways including: co-founding our middle school sports program, serving as Vice President of Public Affairs for the St. Augustine Navy League, chairing a statewide literacy initiative, serving on the Northeast Florida Early Learning Coalition Board, chairing the Business Liaison team at Timberlin Creek Elementary, and co-chairing the “Farm to Table” event produced by the Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach; pairing our local Hastings area farmers with Ponte Vedra Beach area chefs.

Kim is particularly proud of having served in the trenches fighting for community issues such as: writing educational policy, fighting unsuitable development locations like Hopewell Church in the Northwest of the County, battling against inappropriate rezoning requests by Mastercraft at The Parkes in Julington Creek Plantation, advocating the right for prayer at graduation, and fighting senseless school rezonings.
