A male suspect is being sought in connection with a robbery and shooting at a SR 312 restaurant late Sunday night according to a media alert received by Historic City News this morning.
Deputies responded to a report of a shooting of the female manager of Applebees at 11:15 p.m. Sunday. Read more
Sheriff takes lead in Interstate shootings

Charles Mulligan with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office has informed Historic City News that after coordinated discussions with The Florida Highway Patrol, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office will take the lead investigative position in last nights Interstate shooting incidents. Arrest on police impersonation charges

Wednesday night, a 21-year old St. Johns County man was arrested on charges of impersonating a police officer, carrying a concealed firearm and use of a firearm while committing a felony according to records from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office that were supplied to Historic City News by Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw. Crays wanted on kidnapping and other charges

Violent Crimes Unit Detective Charles Brantley is looking for 33 year old Shawn Lee Crays of St. Augustine Beach in connection with the MAC tool truck robbery that occurred earlier this year says SJSO Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw.
Historic City News was informed that an arrest warrant has been issued for Crays on charges of kidnapping, grand theft, robbery with a firearm, and carjacking with a weapon. The bonds on those charges total $505,000. Crays is described as a white male, 6’6” tall, 270 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. Read more

Man arrested on felony animal fighting charge

A 52-year old Volusia County man was arrested early Sunday morning on a charge of possession of training devices for animal fighting, a third degree felony, accounding to a media resease received by Historic City News this morning.
St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw reported that the suspect, identified as Jamie Alamos, 52, Deleon Springs, was booked into the County Jail and released last night after posting $2,500 bond. Read more
Knife fight sends one to hospital

This morning at 8:52 a.m., SJSO Sgt. Charles Mulligan sent Historic City News the details concerning the multiple stabbing victim who was airlifted by Med Flight yesterday evening to Shands Hospital - Jacksonville.
A knife fight occurred on Puryear Street and was reported to 9-1-1 just before 7:30 last night. It resulted in one man being sent to the hospital — and one man to jail. Read more

Man found beaten in West Augustine

A suspect or suspects are being sought in connection with the beating of a 49-year old St. Johns County man found early this morning. The victim was found on the ground by a passerby at 6:30 a.m. near the area of W. King St. and S. St. Johns Ave. Read more
Hastings kidnapping and battery reported
May 22, 2008
A 58-year old Hastings man was arrested on charges of sexual battery, kidnapping, aggravated assault and battery this afternoon according to information received from Sgt. Chuck Mulligan with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, identified as Joseph M. Dennis, 58, 811 N. Main St., was located hiding at another residence in the 800 block of N. Main St. this afternoon and was questioned by Special Victims’ Unit Detectives. Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw tells Historic City News and Media that Dennis was then booked into the County Jail. Read more
