Expo helps citizens avoid foreclosure

Foreclosure
A special Housing Expo is planned for Thursday, July 17, from 5:30 – 8:30 pm at the Ponce de Leon Mall, located at 2121 US-1 South in St. Augustine according to an announcement received by Historic City News this morning.

Informational booths will be staffed by local bankers, Realtors, attorneys, builders, housing officials and members of the prevention/intervention team.

The St. Johns County Housing & Community Services Department has compiled a team of community groups to assist residents facing obstacles in the housing market; including foreclosure.

The foreclosure prevention/intervention team includes the Housing & Community Services Department, County Extension Office, St. Johns Housing Partnership, local lenders and housing professionals. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities for credit counseling, budgeting and avoiding foreclosure.

Also, residents may visit their website to learn more about available assistance. On the website is a Homeowner Intervention Form residents may fill out and submit for personalized assistance.
