In the Flagler County sheriff’s race, two familiar faces will meet in a three-cornered race in November according to information forwarded by election sources to Historic City News.
Incumbent Sheriff Don Fleming easily defeated James Delaney and William Karback in the Republican primary, with Fleming capturing 54 percent of the vote.
Fleming will face former Sheriff James Manfre, who defeated Mark Carman, Jack Howell and Karl Tozzi in the Democratic primary election. Manfre captured 38 percent of the vote among Democrats.
Ray Stevens is automatically on the November ballot for sheriff to face the Republican and Democratic winners since no other candidates qualified without party affiliation.
