St. Johns Golf Club is one of thousands of facilities nationwide hosting American Express® Women’s Golf Month supported by Golf For Women magazine activities according to a media release sent to Historic City News from Karen Pan in the St. Johns County Office of Public Affairs.
Festivities include a free golf instructional clinic on Monday, June 16, from 6 PM to 8 PM. Golf clubs will be available for beginner golfers, while participants can take advantage of discounted lesson packages, merchandise discounts and entry into a variety of contests and raffles.
Last year, a record 1,358 facilities across the country hosted American Express Women’s Golf Week supported by Golf For Women with more than 34,200 women participating in Women’s Golf Week activities.
In its fourth year, American Express Women’s Golf Month supported by Golf For Women is aimed at increasing the participation of women in golf and to make learning and playing golf fun in a women-friendly environment. Because of the overwhelming success of Women’s Golf Week over the past three years, organizers of the event extended the promotion to the entire month of June this year. American Express Women’s Golf Week supported by Golf For Women magazine provides women, 14 years of age and older, with complimentary golf instruction in a non-intimidating environment, in addition to a month-long series of golf and social events customized by each host facility.
“We are thrilled to increase opportunities for women to learn and play golf through our activities here at St. Johns Golf Club,†said Wes Tucker, Director of Golf. “This event will provide new golfers with exposure to the sport in an entertaining way, while also providing more experienced golfers the opportunity to network with others who share their passion for golf.â€
