Stab victim’s injuries not life threatening

At about 10:30 last night, the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Winn-Dixie parking lot at Solano Road and AIA North in Ponte Vedra Beach according to a media alert received by Historic City News from SGT C. E. Mulligan.

Deputies were responding to reports of a 17 year old female with a stab wound in her chest.

The stabbing allegedly occurred at a separate location in Ponte Vedra Beach.

The victim summoned assistance after realizing that medical attention was necessary.

St. Johns County Fire Rescue treated the victim at the site and summoned an air ambulance to transport her to Shands Trauma Center.

Sheriff’s Office investigators are are working to confirm the exact location of the altercation and to locate potential suspects in the incident.

Before 11:00 p.m., we were informed that the victim’s injuries were determined not to be life threatening.
