Vote by mail with absentee ballot

The Supervisor of Elections Office reported to Historic City News that the Special Republican Primary Election for Senate District 8 will be held September 15th.

Since Florida is a closed primary state, this election is open ONLY to registered Republicans residing in Senate District 8.

The October 6th Special General Election will be open to all voters residing in Senate District 8.

This is not a county wide election for St. Johns County. Only 27 precincts in St. Johns County are located in Senate District 8.

Check your voter information card or our website www.sjcvotes.us for your Senate District.

Absentee ballots may be requested by phone (904) 823-2238, in person, by using the on-line request on our website or by mail.

Absentee ballots are currently available at the Supervisor’s Main Office in St. Augustine.

The Ponte Vedra Branch Office and the SE Annex (behind the Southeast Branch Library) will open for each election for absentee ballots the following dates:

SPECIAL REPUBLICAN PRIMARY ELECTION
Sept. 8 – 11th (Tues. – Fri.)
Sept. 14th & 15th (Mon. & Tues)
8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

SPECIAL GENERAL ELECTION
Sept. 28th – Oct. 2nd (Mon. – Fri.)
And Oct 5th & 6th (Mon. & Tues.)
8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The deadline for requesting absentee ballots to be mailed for the SPECIAL REPUBLICAN PRIMARY is 5:00 p.m. on September 8, 2009.

The deadline for requesting absentee ballots to be mailed for the SPECIAL GENERAL ELECTION is 5:00 p.m. on September 30, 2009.

All voted ballots must be in the Supervisor of Elections Main Office by 7:00 p.m., or by 4:30 p.m. at either Annex on election day, in order to be counted. Voted absentee ballots cannot be turned in at the polls.
