Vietnam documentary and exhibit at Flagler

Historic City News readers have been invited to a “Welcome Home” event for Vietnam veterans on Sunday, November 7th in the Flagler College Auditorium.

The doors open at 2:00 p.m. and the public will enjoy many special exhibits including the “Travelling Vietnam Wall”.

The travelling wall is part of a special tribute to prisoners of war and those still missing in action in Vietnam and includes the names of Florida residents who paid the ultimate price in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

The premier Flagler College documentary “Vietnam: Service, Sacrifice & Courage” runs from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Sunday’s keynote speaker will be U.S. Congressman John Mica and local Vietnam veterans and the presentation will include patriotic music and a service salute from the St. Augustine High School Chorus.

This free event is presented by Flagler College, Allied Veterans of the World and Affiliates, the Veterans Council of St. Johns County and Florida Veterans Programs and Projects.
