Workshop focuses on San Sebastian bridge

The Florida Department of Transportation announced to Historic City News that they will hold a public workshop on August 30th from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. to discuss the planned replacement of the bridge on King Street that crosses the San Sebastian River.

The low bridge carries a heavy traffic load as the most active means of access into the city from West Augustine; ending near the San Sebastian Winery and Flagler College towers.

Plans are calling for a $29 million two-year construction project that could start in December 2011 and be completed in December 2013.

Historic City News readers can stop by the St. Johns County Public Library and discuss construction plans with the project team members anytime Monday, August 30th.
