Fifth annual Christmas tree recycling event

Palm Coast City Manager Jim Landon reported to Historic City News that this year, city residents would be able to recycle their Christmas tree and receive a free three-gallon evergreen tree in exchange.

On Saturday, January 7th, you can also recycle your used VCR, TV, CD or DVD players at the City of Palm Coast’s fifth annual Christmas tree recycling event.

Bring your trees and electronics from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to the city’s fuel depot located at 22 Utility Drive in Palm Coast.

You can also recycle old Christmas tree lights, styrofoam and gift wrap.

“All trees donated for recycling will be ground and used as mulch to beautify foliage across the City of Palm Coast,” Landon told reporters. “Staff requests that residents please remove all decorations, lights, tinsel and ornaments from trees prior to donation.”

For more information, please log onto the city’s website at www.palmcoastgov.com or contact Carol Bennett at 386-986-3722.
