Boil water notice rescinded in city

Historic City News readers who live near North Park Avenue, between Douglas Avenue and Barbour Place in St. Augustine are being notified by the City of St. Augustine Public Works officials that the precautionary boil water notice in their area has been rescinded.

As a precautionary measure, residents and businesses in the area were notified by the city on November 18, 2011 to boil their water before consuming it due to a water main break that could have contaminated the supply.

Following the satisfactory completion of a bacteriological survey, the city lifted previously posted warnings. Director of Public Affairs Paul Williamson reported today that the testing showed the water is safe to drink.
