Commission to approve contract with COA

Historic City News will be watching tomorrow when Executive Director Cathy Brown appears as part of a consent agenda item before the St. Johns County Commission; awarding the Council on Aging proceeds from a Florida Department of Transportation Public Transit Block Grant amounting to $227,000.

Transit Planner, Gary L. Mackey, will request that the Board approve the contract between the Council on Aging and the Board of County Commissioners. The contract is needed so that these FDOT funds can be used by the Council on Aging for the operation of the COA Sunshine Busses as part of St Johns County Transit system.

If you plan to attend, the St. Johns County Board of County Commissions will convene Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the County Auditorium located inside the lobby of the County Administration Building at 500 San Sebastian View in St. Augustine. It will be broadcast live on Comcast Government TV (Cable Channel 3) and is streamed over the Internet.
