Free nature hike at Vaill Point Park

SPECIAL OFFER FOR HISTORIC CITY NEWS READERS

St. Johns County Recreation and Parks Superintendent Betsy Clarkson reported to Historic City News that Danny Lippi will lead a nature hike at Vaill Point Park on Sunday, May 22nd at 9:00 a.m.

Lippi is a certified Arborist recognized by the International Society of Arborist and University of Florida Master Naturalist instructor.

Vaill Point Park is located at 630 Vaill Point Road in St. Augustine. Pre-registration is not required for this free event.

Danny will introduce native trees and life in the maritime understory at Vaill Point Park.

The activity level is considered easy, so participants are asked to dress comfortably with walking shoes.

Participants will learn to identify the trees in the native coastal and upland eco-systems and the roles they play in native wildlife communities.

Bird watchers will enjoy the location as the spring migration is in full swing.

The hike will last approximately an hour and a half.
