Weather may hinder Occupy City Hall today

It is yet unknown if weather will interfere with plans for the outdoor “Occupy City Hall” assembly previously announced for this afternoon by Occupy St Augustine spokesperson, Danielle Fountain. .

The Florida People’s Working Convention was held in Orlando over the weekend. Fountain says that Resolutions were developed for the organization that will be published locally for a review and vote.

“Those resolutions agreed upon by the local Occupations in Florida will be presented to the state legislature in Tallahassee in January,” Fountain said. “We will also vote on local resolutions which will be presented to city and county commissioners. We are the 99%”

During today’s meeting, occupiers were to hold their own votes on issues City Commissioners are discussing — including holiday bonuses for city workers. Fountain promised, “All will have a chance to speak”.

The St Augustine City Commission is holding a 3:30 p.m. 450th Commemoration Workshop then convenes its regular business meeting at 5:00 p.m. in the Alcazar Room on the first floor of the same building.
