At about 8:00 p.m. last night, the Florida Highway Patrol reported to Historic City News that a Port Orange woman was killed when she collided with a semi-truck as she traveled north on I-95 from St. Augustine.
Traffic Homicide investigators are looking into what caused the crash just south of the International Golf Parkway exit and alcohol tests have not yet been concluded.
According to the FHP report, 46-year old Cynthia Marie Meister was driving northbound in the center lane next.
For a yet undetermined reason, investigators believe Meister veered into the right lane, striking the semi-truck’s left front tire, sending her car off the road, where it struck two trees.
Meister was killed in the crash. She was not wearing a seat belt, Troopers said.
She is survived by her mother, Kathern Stewart; her daughter, Jennifer Donoso; her son, Kyle Sanford; and her brother Jeffery Farmer.
Craig Funeral Home in St. Augustine is in charge of arrangements.
