Florida State bestows two awards on Proctor

Florida State University President, Dr Eric J Barron, reported to Historic City News that they recently honored Flagler College Chancellor and Florida State Representative Bill Proctor with two awards for his work — both with the students of the State of Florida and in appreciation of eight years of legislative leadership.

“Dr. Proctor is a remarkable role model for our students – as an FSU graduate he demonstrates that you can do anything you set your mind to – from Chancellor to highly regarded legislator,” said Dr. Barron. “Very few individuals in the legislature have the depth and breadth of knowledge about higher education of Dr. Proctor, and he has used that knowledge and commitment to help ensure the success of all of Florida’s universities and colleges.”

Dr. Proctor is a graduate of Florida State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in education as well as his master’s and doctorate in Education Administration. Over the course of his career, Dr. Proctor also served as an assistant football coach, assistant dean of men, research fellow from 1962 to 1968, interim athletic director from 2007 to 2008, and is a member of the FSU Athletic Hall of Fame. He has served as Chancellor of Flagler College since 2001.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized by my alma mater,” said Dr. Proctor.
