Local author chosen to present book for children

Historic City News readers are invited to attend the 30th annual Book-Author Luncheon of the American Association of University Women, when local author and illustrator, Diane Thompson Cortese will present her children’s book, “Sweet Dreams, St Augustine”.

Cortese, one of three women authors who will present her book at the luncheon, claims a passion and flair for introducing children to cultural geography and the arts.

The book takes you on a moonlit tour of St Augustine, capturing the city’s essence and celebrating its Spanish-inspired architecture, historic landmarks, flavorful Minorcan culture and natural treasures.

Books will be on sale and the three featured authors will be available for signing before and after the luncheon.

All proceeds from the event will go to fund academic scholarships for women.

The Vero Beach Branch of the women’s association will hold the luncheon at noon, February 18th in the Grand Harbor Clubhouse located at 4985 Club Terrace in Vero Beach.

Many Vero Beach businesses are providing raffle prizes, and, once again, Macy’s Department Store is the corporate sponsor.
