The City of St Augustine wants to notify Historic City News readers to expect San Marco Avenue to be closed to all vehicular traffic during the 2012 March for Life procession that begins at approximately 12 noon on Saturday, January 14.
The annual event, which last year drew over 1,000 participants, will start at the Mission of Nombre de Dios and Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche; then proceed south on San Marco Avenue and continue on South Castillo Drive to the City Gates.
The procession will continue south on St George Street to the Plaza; where the event concludes.
St George Street will remain closed between Cathedral Place and King Street from approximately 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Traffic delays on San Marco Avenue are expected to take approximately 45 minutes to clear.
To avoid any inconvenience, the public is advised to avoid the area unless involved with the event.
