Bicyclist knocked to road by turning truck

400-BRIAN-DAVID-COLLEYSt Johns County Fire Rescue spokesman Matthew Sara informed Historic City News that a 36-year-old St Augustine man has been transported by air ambulance to UF Health Jacksonville hospital with critical injuries after his bicycle collided with a turning Ford F-150 pickup truck.

At about 3:40 p.m. this afternoon, Brian David Colley, who resides on Hilltop Road in St Augustine, was riding his bicycle southbound on SR-207 in the bike lane; between the outside northbound lane and the outside right-turn lane.

The driver of the pickup truck, 20-year-old Curtis Ray Christensen of St Augustine, was traveling northbound on SR-207 in the outside lane. When he changed lanes, he struck Colley, who was not wearing a helmet; knocking him to the roadway.
