Historic City “News in Photos” Contest officially began Monday, and entries like this one titled “Waiting for the big one on St Augustine Beach” have been coming into our contest e-mail box each day.
Shutterbug Judy Jackson of St Augustine said that she is eager to compete with other amateur photographers for a cash prize and gifts being sponsored by Computer Doctors in St Augustine. Judy entered two digital photographs into the contest which will run for the next four weeks.
“Historic City News was founded on the principle that citizen journalists play as much a part in reporting the news as professional news writers,” said Michael Gold, its managing editor. “With the advent of instant, high-quality digital photography and video as close as your smartphone, tablet or other mobile device, the ability of the press to tell news stories, enhanced by images, is changing the way we report events that affect everyone’s lives.”
For contest rules, visit the link at http://historiccity.com/contest and to submit an entry, attach your digital photograph, in either .jpg or .png digital format, along with your name, address, telephone number, age, and brief description of the subject, to the contest e-mail address firstname.lastname@example.org
