David Chatterton, General Manager of Old Town Trolley Tours of St. Augustine told Historic City News reporters today that he is proud to announce the company’s new partnership with Teladoc Services.
Teladoc provides a wide variety of tele-health services including General Health and General Dermatology. All Teladoc physicians are board-certified and all providers are state-licensed and adhere to the industry’s highest clinical standards.
“Historic Tours of America employs over 1200 people nationwide and is continually looking for ways to add to our already competitive compensation package,” Chatterton told local reporters earlier today. “Adding Teladoc to the benefits package will allow employees and their families to have access to a board certified doctor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
Historic Tours of America’s benefits package currently includes:
- Medical Insurance
- 401(k) company match
- Dental Insurance
- Vision insurance
- Long-term disability
- Short-term disability
- Paid vacation
- Paid sick leave
But, Chatterton says Teladoc is revolutionizing healthcare by bringing the doctor to you; via your smart phone, computer, or home phone. Registered patients can easily make an appointment that is convenient with their schedule.
“We all know how hard it is to find a doctor after hours or weekends,” he said. “Now our employees can see a doctor without leaving the comfort of their home.”
- First, patients sign on to Teladoc and request an appointment. They can choose what time of day or night and choose if they want to see a doctor via smart phone, computer or talk to one over the phone.
- Second, a licensed physician from their state will contact them at the time requested.
- Finally, after the visit, the doctor can call in a prescription to the patient’s local pharmacy.
Chatterton told Historic City News editor Michael Gold that Historic Tours of America is picking up the cost for this service; available to all full and part time employees, their spouses and their children.
“With the rising cost of healthcare, we feel this is something we can do for our employees to help them see a doctor without worrying about how to pay for it,” Chatterton explained. “This is the future of healthcare and Historic Tours of America is happy to be partnering with Teladoc.”
