Overpass for CR-210 and US-1 proposed
Florida Department of Transportation District Two Public Information Director, Gina Busscher, invited Historic City News readers to attend an informal meeting on Monday, June 25, to learn about improvements planned for the intersection of CR-210 at US-1 in St Johns County.
The “open house” meeting will be held between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.; allowing those interested in the project to stop by and look at the project design plans or to speak with staff. Public comments will be taken at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting will be held in the St Johns County Administration Palace located at 500 San Sebastian View in St Augustine.
The Department proposes building an overpass for CR-210 traffic over the FEC Railroad and US-1. Plans are to provide a new connection between the existing curves, west of US-1, to a point east of US-1 at Nocatee. A portion of the Old Dixie Highway will also be reconstructed.
Construction bids will be opened in November at an estimated cost of $13 million. The project will take about two years to complete.
Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability or family status as the Department complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
