Kirk Wendland reported to Historic City News that the general membership of both the Ponte Vedra Beach Chamber of Commerce and St Johns County Chamber of Commerce overwhelmingly approved a resolution Friday to merge the two organizations; as previously endorsed by each body’s board of directors.
Starting on Monday, February 18, and continuing for the next four weeks, the City of St Augustine has informed Historic City News that Anderson Circle, between Charlotte Street and Cathedral Place, will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
Historic City News was advised by St Johns County that the regularly scheduled public meeting of the Planning and Zoning Agency will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the County Auditorium at the St Johns County Administrative Palace located at 500 San Sebastian View in St Augustine.
Historic City News learned that 79-year-old Annette G Cappella, a resident of Coquina Crossing in Elkton, and the St Johns County Democratic State Committeewoman, was put on-the-spot in a national conference call this week after a Palm Beach Post reporter called her out for playing politics and trying to pass herself off as your average “Medicare-dependent Floridian”.

Is it not a great mystery?
Police spokesman, Mark Samson, updated Historic City News on autopsy findings in the death of 49-year-old Christian Gerard Schroom early Sunday morning, November 18, 2012; traffic homicide investigators say he was struck and killed on Anastasia Boulevard by two, yet unidentified vehicles.
Historic City News reported the tragic Christmas evening crash on Anastasia Island that claimed the lives of 25-year-old Trevor Austin Leonardi and his wife, 28-year-old Jennifer Ann Roos-Leonardi; and now, police have released toxicology reports that confirm the presence of drugs in their blood streams which contributed to the fatal crash.
