City hears 3 requests for alcohol sales
The meeting of the St Augustine Planning and Zoning Board yesterday heard three requests from businesses wanting the required approval to sell alcoholic beverages in the city; one controversial enough to be tabled for a future meeting.






Saint Augustine Beach Civic Association invited Historic City News readers to the Music by the Sea concert tonight with entertainment provided by the Orion Navy Band in the open-air Pier Pavilion.
Historic City News has learned that the Republican Liberty Caucus of Northeast Florida in Jacksonville would host a speaker at their meeting on September 11 from Restore Justice 2012; an organization working to deny three Florida Supreme Court justices new terms on the high bench.
Historic City News has previously reported that 57 of Florida’s 67 counties, including St Johns County, have joined with the Florida Association of Counties to challenge the 2012 Medicaid Billing Law, saying that it is unconstitutional.
St Johns County Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes told local Historic City News reporters that about 100 absentee ballots were not counted in the August 14 Primary Election because they were not received in the Elections Office until after the election.

Historic City News reporters were on the scene of a lunchtime crash, one block north of SR-312 on US-1, that sent a mother and her daughter to Flagler Hospital with serious injuries; after the Jeep struck a pick-up truck, bounced off a center curb, and went flying into the air — landing on the driver’s side in a northbound traffic lane.
