Manual audit published by Elections Supervisor
This week, St Johns County Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oaks completed her “Public Manual Audit” of the official ballots cast during the August 14, 2012 Primary Election and was pleased to report to Historic City News that the overall accuracy of the audit was 100%.







Public Information Officer Jeremy Robshaw advised local Historic City News reporters that St Johns County Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire early this morning in the 400 block of Watson Road in St Augustine.
After the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance images to Historic City News and other media representatives yesterday, a woman who was being sought as a witness to an attempted carjacking came forward and identified herself to detectives.
The skeletal remains of a man, who has been missing from Volusia County since December 2001, were tentatively identified to Historic City News reporters, pending additional DNA testing by St Johns County Sheriff’s detectives.

Amber Grafft-Weiss, Florida Public Archaeology Network Outreach Coordinator, has invited Historic City News readers in St Augustine to participate in several archaeology events upcoming at the end of August and beginning of September.
St Johns County Fire Rescue Muscular Dystrophy Association coordinator, Matt Hooker, announced to Historic City News that, for the 13th year, local firefighters would participate in the 2012 MDA “Fill the Boot” fundraising drive.
