Dear St Johns County voters and Historic City News readers:
Thank you for each vote I received during the 2012 Primary, August 14. I appreciate your time-talent and support during this primary.
Several days after 51-year-old Gregory Scott Testa did not call-in or show up for work, public information officer Catherine Payne told Historic City News that his employer became suspicious and notified the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office that they had reasonable concern for his welfare.
St Johns County has 150,948 registered voters, but you would not know it by today’s Primary Election turnout, according to records reported to Historic City News by Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes.
Voting continues in 46 precincts in St Johns County at a slow pace this Election Day, with about 10,000 ballots cast as of 3:30 p.m., according to Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes.
St Augustine Police Sergeant Patrick McCaulley is attempting to locate two women in connection with the theft of several cartons of baby diapers from the CVS Pharmacy located on Ponce de Leon Boulevard at SR-16 on Friday, August 10.
Corporal Catherine Payne reported to Historic City News in St Augustine that the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene of a suspected homicide off Wildwood Drive in St Augustine.
Historic City News reporters were invited to join Becky Pruitt, the mother of 2007 murder victim, 31-year-old Clark Edwin McWhorter, as she shared her grief and gratitude this afternoon; following word that the crime has been solved and 34 year-old Phillip Carl Pomper was arrested.
Terri Newmans informed local Historic City News reporters that St Augustine resident Griffin Gard, a seventeen-year-old member of Boy Scout Troop 345, has completed a service project for the Fort Mose Historic State Park as part of his quest to become an Eagle Scout.
