Marine Gunnery Sergeant John Hayes will be the recipient of the second St Johns County home built for a wounded warrior by the local non-profit organization, “Homes for our Troops”.






Paul Studivant reported an improvement to the hours of operation at the St Johns County Animal Control and Pet Center beginning September 1, 2012.
Rabbi Merrill Shapiro, President of the St Augustine Jewish Historical Society, told local reporters at Historic City News that this year’s commemoration of 447 years of unbroken history in St Augustine will be expanded to include the possibility, and some suggest likelihood, that it marks the first arrival of Jews in our country, as well.

Paul Williamson reported to Historic City News that the construction of two brick crosswalks near the intersection of Valencia and Cordova Streets would necessitate the closing of each of those streets for portions of this week.
Florida Department of Transportation spokesperson, Laurie Sanderson, announced to local Historic City News reporters that St Johns County drivers should use extra caution when traveling on US-1 South Wednesday as the department will be conducting roadwork that is expected to have an impact on driving.
