St. Johns forecast – business-friendly

Historic City News learned that Florida Trend is forecasting St. Johns County’s future will be focused on a better balance between commercial and residential according to its Economic Yearbook 2009.

In highlights republished in this issue of the St. Augustine Report, “Three newly elected commissioners have changed the balance of power on the county commission, which has made economic development a priority and is studying economic incentives and impact-fee reductions to make St. Johns more competitive with its neighbors,”

“The county tax base is about 85% residential and 15% commercial. The board wants to be in a position to adjust those numbers when the economy rebounds.”
