Dear Editor:
Governor Scott ignored the legislature and heaped personal punishment on people with developmental disabilities.
Scott’s intentionally harmful executive order of March 31 and April 1 will remove thousands of Florida citizens with I/DD from their homes, discontinue their jobs in the community, and, very likely, increase the very expensive population in our state’s institutions.
Our elected officials in Tallahassee let these people down.
More than 30,000 individuals with I/DD will be encouraged to register to vote, giving them significant impact on their local and state elections.
