Katie Walton reported to Historic City News that The Junior Service League of St. Augustine will present “Night at the Lightner Museum”, an interactive evening at the Lightner Museum for children ages 7‐12.
Parent’s can enjoy a night‐off this summer while their kids spend an educational and entertaining experience at the Lightner Museum.
Transformed into “Lightner Treasures”‐hunters for the evening, kids will have the rare opportunity to explore during a special after‐hours tour of the museum. Then kids are invited to bring their sleeping bag and pillows as they enjoy an exciting PG movie and build‐your‐own popcorn station. The evening will also include dinner, games and a special take‐home keepsake.
“Night at the Museum” is scheduled for July 10, 24 and August 8, 21, 6:00‐11:00 p.m. The cost is $45 per child and $35 per additional sibling.
Interested parents can call (904) 824‐3939 for more information.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Junior Service League’s Lightner East Restoration Project and other JSL projects. Corporate sponsorships are still available.
Lightner East is a restoration project named for the eastern, semicircular room on the second level of Lightner Museum. Envisioned as a functional space for community events and lectures, the room will also play host to some of the beautiful treasures of Lightner Museum.
