Traffic Deputies with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office reported to Historic City News that they are investigating an ATV crash on private property that injured two of the three occupants this morning.
Deputies and Fire/Rescue Personnel responded to a report of an ATV crash at 10:24 a.m. on the Bartram Air Park property located off C.R. 13A, south of Bolling Lane where they located three injured men.
The vehicle involved was an Arctic Cat recreational vehicle and was traveling westerly on a private dirt road when it lost control causing the vehicle to roll on its passenger side.
It is unknown at this time on who the driver was, however all three were injured.
The most serious injured was identified as Ronald Drawdy, 39, St. Augustine. He was treated at the scene and was then taken by air ambulance to Shands/Jacksonville for further treatment. He was listed in critical condition at the time of transport.
The second subject, identified as William (Trey) Byrd III, 37, St. Augustine was transported to Flagler Hospital by County Rescue.
The third subject, identified as Bryan Cannon, 24, St. Augustine was treated at the scene and refused transport.
The preliminary investigation shows that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash and that none of the victims were wearing available seat belts. The investigation is continuing.
