Historic City News was notified by the City of St. Augustine that beginning Tuesday, October 4th, the St. Augustine Fire Department will begin conducting “flow tests” on fire hydrants in the area south of King Street.
The tests are being conducted between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons in the area between US-1, Ponce de Leon Boulevard, and the western boundaries of the city.
Public Affairs Director Paul Williamson told Historic City News that the city will attempt to notify affected area businesses, including restaurants and hotels, in order to minimize interruption as the work progresses.
The overall project is expected to last approximately one month, Williamson said.
