Welcome Back Snowbirds
Tuesday, January 3 – The Friends of the Library welcome back the seasonal patrons. They will have a hospitality table full of calendars, tote bags for purchase as well as membership information and FREE book giveaways!

Ghost Hunting 101 with Marley Gibson
Wednesday, January 11 @ 3:30 pm – Do you watch all of the paranormal TV shows? Do you believe in ghosts and the afterlife? Marley Gibson will share her research for the GHOST HUNTRESS series and what it’s like to be a ghost huntress. Come join us for this sure to be entertaining presentation! Anastasia Island & Its Special Birds: Wading Birds
Saturday, January 14 @ 2 pm – Here in Northeast Florida one can see long-legged wading birds like egrets and herons daily. Do you know how to differentiate the various species, where they nest, what they eat and
how you can help them strive? Join us to learn more about egrets and herons, their fascinating lives, how we nearly lost them all, and what we can do to protect them. Presented by Monique Borboen, the Audubon Society’s Science and Policy Associate for Northeast Florida.
New Release Movie Event
Tuesday, January 17 @ 2:30 pm – (PG-13) In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was no accident. Author Event: Caren Umbarger – Coming To: A Midwestern Tale
Saturday, January 21 @ 2 pm – Join local author, musician and music director Caren Umbarger as she discusses writing her first book, Coming To: A Midwestern Tale. The tale of one woman’s journey of self discovery, Umbarger is quick to note the timeless themes of her story, as seen in the recent awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to women who have worked to further gender equality and the rights of women.
