Dream Big, Dream Beyond Flip-Flop Shoe Drive for Haiti
June 1st – August 7th – Do you want to Dream Big, Dream Beyond with us this summer? Donate NEW flip-flops, Crocs, or other summer shoes for orphans in Haiti and make a real difference for kids in need! All sizes of kids’ shoes are welcome. Our goal is to collect 500 new pairs of shoes for the kids. We CAN do it!

Tuesday, June 12 @ 10:15 am – Signing Time Academy is a great way for you and your child to learn American Sign Language (ASL) vocabulary as you play, sing, and sign along with your friends. Writer’s Workshop: How to Market & Promote Your Book with B & N Booksellers
Saturday, June 16 @ 10:15 am – Learn how you as an author can market and promote your book within the Barnes & Noble Guidelines. Jamie Williams, Community Relations Manager, will discuss the “Barnes & Noble Acceptance Criteria” and the “Author’s Guide to Arranging an Event at Barnes & Noble Stores.” Handouts will be provided on both of these topics. Sponsored by the Ancient City Chapter of the Florida Writer’s Association and the Friends of the Library. Program is FREE and open to the public.
Teen Summer Reading Club: Chinese Lanterns
Monday, June 18 @ 5 pm – Young adults are invited to join our Teen Summer Reading Club. This focuses on safe and creative ways teens can Own the Night! Start your summer by crafting one of these eco-friendly Chinese lanterns. These stick-and-cardboard lanterns have a natural look by day, but light up like skyscrapers at night. We’ll provide all necessary supplies!
Kids Summer Reading Program: Dream Big, Dream Beyond
Tuesday, June 19 @ 2 pm & again @ 3 pm – Kids CAN make a difference! Wilderness advocate Jane Goodall, TV inventor Philo Farnsworth, day-glo inventors Bob, and Joe Switzer all started out as kids with a dream to make the world a better place. This program kicks-off our summer-long humanitarian flip-flop drive for orphans in Haiti. Children of all ages are welcome. Please note – FLYP programs are geared toward the school-age child.

Tuesday, June 19 @ 5:30 pm – The A, B, C, and D of Medicare! Join us for this invaluable workshop, before you get frustrated trying to figure Medicare out for yourself. You’ll learn to recognize the different parts of Medicare, compare coverage options, what services and supplies are covered by Medicare, and recognize Medicare rights and appeals. This is an educational event presented by Grace Carter, a representative with Agency 65.

Teen Financial Literacy Workshop
Saturday, June 30 from 10 am to 3:30 pm – Whether you are starting your first job, graduating from high school, or heading off to college, every teen should learn how to manage money. The St. Johns River Chapter of Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and SJCPLS are teaming up to offer this full day workshop to young adults, ages 15-20.
