For the second time in as many days, an armed man has entered a Flagler County gas and convenience store, pretended to make a purchase, and then robbed the clerk according to an alert received by Historic City News from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
The clerk at the BP Station at 2245 South Old Dixie Highway in Bunnell told deputies the man entered the store around 12:26 p.m today, selected a soft drink, and then placed it on the counter.
When the clerk rang the sale, the robber pulled a 10 to 12 inch knife and demanded money from the register drawer.
The robber fled the store on foot. Investigators believe he may be driving a silver Pontiac Sunfire or Chevy Cavalier.
The vehicle was last seen headed eastbound on Old Dixie Highway (Marco Polo Park Boulevard) toward I-95.
Public Information Officer Debra Johnson informed Historic City News that the robber in today’s incident matches the description and surveillance video image of the robber at the Shell Station on Celico Way in Palm Coast yesterday.
The robber is described as being clean-shaven, with short dark hair, in his late 20s or early 30s, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. Sunday he was wearing a red t-shirt, dark shorts with white stripes and a dark colored ball cap.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (386) 313-4911.
