Communications Manager Beau Phillips reported to Historic City News today that the US-1/SR-312 Business Council will present the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce Health Care Reform Summit to help prepare business owners and managers for the effects health care reform will have on their businesses.
The Summit will strive to address basic questions. Will cost continue to increase? What will the requirements be? Presenters will strive to address what health care will look like in the future.
“We wanted to hear from the experts what these new laws will mean for businesses,” President of the Chamber of Commerce Kirk Wendland said. “This is critical information for the business community to understand.”
Presenting at the Health Care Reform Summit:
Joe Gordy, CEO of Flagler Hospital
Robert S. Ellerbrock, III, attorney with Constangy, Brooks & Smith
Ronald “Doc” Renuart, a physician and District 18 State Representative
“The Affordable Care Act will affect the way health care is provided in this country; however, change was inevitable,” Flagler Hospital CEO Joe Gordy said. “It is the cost of care that has been driving a self-transformation in our industry.”
The event is being held on September 25, in the Osceola Room at Flagler Hospital, and is open to the public. Registration is required and admission to the event is $15 ($10 for SJC Chamber Members). To register visit www.sjcchamber.com/healthcare or call 904.829.5681.
