The American Boat Builders and Repairers Association recently announced to local reporters with Historic City News that they have presented Camachee Cove Yacht Harbor and Yard their “Award of Excellence in Customer Care”.
Camachee Cove is a fully protected facility adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway, and less than a mile from the St. Augustine Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean. It serves the entire boating community of Northeast Florida, as well as the thousands of visiting boaters each year who enjoy Florida’s waterways and coastline.
“Peter Sabo and his partner Sean McKenna, have been committed to caring for their customers and their boats for 15 years,” said Mark Amaral, managing director of ABBRA; a non-profit organization for the marine service industry. “They have devoted a great deal of time and energy to building a highly skilled team that focuses on customer satisfaction. As a result, they have gained the respect of their colleagues in the boating industry.”
ABBRA’s award is not the only recent honor for Sabo and McKenna. On January 26th, ValvTect gave its Marina of the Year award to Camachee Cove. The partners were honored for their level of commitment to quality, hospitality, the use of best business practices and their environmental stewardship.
“We have always been dedicated to staying true to what matters most – our customers – and those satisfied customers have brought us success,” founding partner Sabo said. “We are excited that our team of boating professionals is getting the recognition it deserves.”
In addition, “Soundings,” a premier boating magazine, gave a positive review to the yacht yard in its February 4th issue. The facility was one of a select few that were praised in an article titled “In Search of the Trusty Yard” by technical editor Tom Neale. “There are some amazing folks in the Camachee Yacht Yard,” Neale wrote; noting the skills and professionalism of Camachee’s experts.
Nearly two dozen privately owned shops and stores provide the services and supplies that bring an added dimension to the Camachee Island lifestyle. The island is home for several organizations that contribute to boating in the area. The Northeast Florida Marlin Association is also headquartered here.
