Phillips Broadcasting of St Augustine announced to Historic City News today that Matt Kraycinovich has joined the locally owned and operated station group as the new Station Manager for WFOY 1240 AM and WAOC 1420 AM.
News of the staff expansion comes after the recently announced plans to launch two new FM stations — WFOY 102.3 FM and WAOC 96.5 FM — that will serve the St Johns County region and augment its two long-held AM stations.
“I’m pleased to make this announcement today since Matt Kraycinovich has extensive radio advertising and management experience,” said Kristine Phillips, President of Phillips Broadcasting LLC, owner of the stations. “His leadership skills will be an asset to the stations as we prepare our FM stations for air.”
According to Phillips, Kraycinovich previously produced an award-winning radio show that aired in more than 13 markets. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s Degree from Boston College, Phillips reported.
“I’m excited to be a part of the WFOY and WAOC family; the only hometown radio stations serving all of St Johns County,” Kraycinovich told reporters. “Unlike other start-up stations that lack any genuine connection to the community, WFOY and WAOC will continue its commitment to St Johns County with dedication and integrity.”
