Historic City News was notified that topics such as bullying, cyber-bullying, peer pressure, raising morally responsible children, cliques and relationship aggression will be covered during the second-of-three sessions that are part of the “Community Empowerment Series”.
Parents are encouraged to bring children ages eight and up, and grandparents, school counselors, educators and anyone who wants to make our community a safer place for kids.
“Peer pressure and bullying are problems all school districts contend with,” stated St Johns County School Superintendent, Dr. Joseph Joyner. “We have the opportunity to be proactive in our approach to solutions.”
On Saturday, March 9th at the Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, Joyner will introduce the speaker for this session — nationally known parenting expert, school consultant and author, Dr. Michele Borba.
“Parents, teachers, support staff and students will all benefit from hearing Dr. Borba’s tips on how to present these issues,” Joyner told reporters.
Doors open at 9:00 a.m. and the session is from 10:00 a.m. to noon. This is a free event; however, interested attendees are strongly encouraged to register online.
Borba is the author of over 25 books and has been featured on Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil, The Today Show, The View, CNN, Dateline, The Doctors, and more. She will be available for book signings and a meet-and-greet after the session.
