Beginning in the spring of next year, Historic City News readers will have an opportunity that has not been available in more than forty years, according to an announcement from the Flagler College special events department.
Spring and summer are the quiet months in the historic hallways of the former Hotel Ponce de Leon; so, for the first time in decades, the college has decided to make those facilities available to host weddings and receptions.
With this new offering comes an opportunity to be married in a National Historic Landmark, surrounded by a glamorous setting that was once a playground for America’s most privileged elite.
The College has identified three unique venues on campus to suit your wedding’s style, tone and size:
• The exquisite Grand Ballroom in the former Hotel Ponce De Leon, the undisputed jewel of St. Augustine, the Nation’s Oldest City.
• Historic Markland House, a spacious and refined estate home with all the charm of the Old South.
• The sophisticated and chic Crisp-Ellert Art Museum, nestled in the heart of the historic campus grounds.
Each venue offers multiple options for food, furnishings and entertainment. The College has partnered with the Casa Monica hotel, the Tasting Room restaurant and Flagler Catering Services to provide meal planning and catering.
Reservations are expected to fill quickly. Bookings will be offered for spring and summer events only. Special discounts are being offered to Flagler College alumni. For information on planning a wedding or other special event, please call 904-826-8617.
