United Way agencies introduce dramatic black and white images

Historic City News salutes the men and women of United Way and the Red Cross who provide a helping hand, or a helping hug, when and where it is needed the most. First Coast United Way has been serving the St Johns County community since 1957.

Executive Director Melissa Nelson told local Historic City News reporters that a collection of dramatic black and white images will be included when the United Way presents the next public exhibit in the Rotunda Gallery of the St Johns County Administration Palace, located at 500 San Sebastian View in St. Augustine.

“It is amazing to bring this artwork together and display it for our community to see,” Nelson said. “Our organization is focused on the building blocks that lead to a good quality of life – Education, Health and Income – because we all gain when children are successful in school, when families are financially stable, and when people are healthy.”

This inspirational exhibit of photographs showcasing the work of nearly 30 non-profit organizations serving residents in St. Johns County, truly demonstrates a commitment to those building blocks in our community. The images graphically depict a range of services from disaster relief to the smiling faces of children at play.

Historic City News readers can visit the exhibit from August 5 – October 23.
