Voter registration books will close on Monday, July 28th for the upcoming August 26th Primary Election. This is the last day for Historic City News readers to register to vote or change your party affiliation in St Johns County before the Primary Election.
“Please call, visit our office, or use our online forms and resources to help you prepare for Election Day,” Supervisor of Elections Vickie Oakes told local reporters. “Call 904-823-2238 or visit http://www.votesjc.com and let us know how we can assist you.”
Since Florida is a closed primary state, in this election you are only eligible to vote the ballot of the party in which you are registered. All voters may vote for nonpartisan races.
Nonpartisan races on the Primary ballot include Circuit Judge races and School Board Members. The School Board races are district specific, and are elected only by voters of their respective districts.
If you are a resident of the City of St. Augustine, City Commissioners are also nonpartisan, and St. Augustine Beach voters will be voting on 12 charter amendments.
Voters are encouraged to visit our website www.votesjc.com. Use the Voter lookup to verify your voter registration and view your sample ballot.
