Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottkamp, Attorney General Bill McCollum and Secretary of the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, Holly Benson, will be special guests at tonight’s meeting of the Republican Executive Committee; according to a report received by Historic City News from Randy Covington, Corresponding Secretary to the Board of the Republican Party of St. Johns County.
The Republican Executive Committee of St. Johns County will hold their regular monthly meeting tonight with a social starting at 6:30 PM and the meeting at 7:00 PM at the Special Events Center of the Northeast Florida Regional Airport at St. Augustine, located at 4730 Casa Cola Way. This meeting is not sponsored by the Authority, its staff or the Airport.
The REC will be conducting an official recommendation proceeding on the Attorney Generals Race.
Covington said, “We have sent all the candidates a questionnaire and an invitation to address the REC. Once the candidates have completed their address, the Chair, at his sole discretion, may open the floor for limited questions, time permitting.”

Upon completion of all the candidates’ addresses, and any questions, the Board will entertain motions from the floor that can range to all the following possibilities:
Recommend One Candidate
Recommend Two Candidates
Recommend All Candidates
The Board will make no motion, but will, if they desire, vote.
Upon completion of the Recommendation Proceeding, we will have time allotted for both the candidates for the Florida State Representative Seat, District 20, or their appointed speaker, to address the REC at large. This is in the nature of a forum only with no recommendation proceeding attached.
