At the St Augustine City Commission meeting last night, Mayor Nancy Shaver received public support for her call to audit the contracts associated specifically with the 450th Commemoration; even though there is still resistance from other commissioners to allow a full audit of those activities to proceed.
In this video, the mayor clarifies “the ask” so that there will be no misunderstanding of what it is that she feels is necessary to clear the air and restore confidence in city officials by residents of the community.
By the conclusion of the meeting, the commission could only agree to support further discussion between the mayor and city manager to see if together they can determine what need, if any, exists to perform further auditing; and, if so, what that cost will be.
